After SPM results released, I challenged myself to study form 6 that I heard most of the people said it is hard in form 6. However, my parents support me to study in form 6 and try to get into university if I possible to make it.

A Wonderful Moments In Secondary School

A Wonderful Moments In Secondary School

In the year of 2003, I entered to my secondary school and it is like a new stage to me. My secondary school is "SMK Westlands". I did not know everyone and the environment was new to me. So, i have to try to make new friends from there and i was very shy and quiet on that time. So, from time to time, i had make quite a number of friends.

When came to form 4, I started to be very active in joining a lot of activities and society. I was a scout and at the same time i was a school prefect as well and chosen to be head prefect and scout troup leader in form 5 which was my last year in the secondary school.

Joining Scout when I was in my secondary school

I was quite active after i joined scout, I had learnt a lot of skills in the scout training and make a lot of friends when we have outing or activities with others school such as camp fire.

Scout activity with other school, it was fun !!!

Besides that, I was also a school prefect. To be a school prefect is to train my leadership skill and also the discipline of myself. After I joined Scout and School Prefect, I found myself are more confident in doing anything and able to speak in front of the public. As we say "Never try, never know". So, we have to try everything that it is good to us, to have an opportunity for us to learn and train to be more confident. Life is meaningful, therefore we have to enjoy and appreciate every moment.

It is not easy to be a leader, but it is good to be train to be a leader.
Once you accepted the challenge to be a leader, you have to show the responsibility as a leader.
It was a wonderful memories that I had in my secondary school. We played, we laughed, we shared and we care to each others.

Chinese Lion Dance

Chinese Lion Dance

Everyone should know about lion dance and lion dancing usually takes place during the Chinese festivals or in any events. Therefore, lion dance is becoming more common to everyone  of us. I would like to share my experience regarding to the learning process of the lion dance. It is divided into 3 categories, it starts at beginner, intermediate and finally is advanced level.

The learning process for a beginner

In traditional way, the new members have to "give a cup of tea" as a sign of respectful to the Master. After that the Master will tell the new members regarding with the ethics, discipline and moral value.
After that, it will proceed to the introduction of the lion dance association, mission and vision. In this stage, the new members are then being introduced to the use of all the necessary equipment through out the whole lion dance performance.

The second level of learning process is Intermediate

Individual will continue to the intermediate part after he or she done with the musicians, Therefore, they will practice with the lion costume which consists of 2 parts, head and tail.
Two dancers are usually needed to give life to a lion. One is to control the movements of the head, eyes, and mouth, the other to act as the body.
After that, they will go for show performance, the dancers are usually enticed with gifts, normally is ang pow attached to a vegetable and tied to a pole. It represents the good sign of prosperous.

The advanced level for individual

For those to achieve higher and interesting to learn in higher level, they will practice the lion on the high steel which is acrobatic lion dance. Usually this stage is for those who has a good foundation of basic skills and dare to accept new challenges.
The master will select the perfect match for a head and a tail and train them in advanced. It is because the advance level is the most dangerous level among all. Therefore, both dancers must understand each of them well.

Therefore, this is my personal knowledge and experience in the Chinese Lion Dance. Hope the cultures of this lion dance will be maintained to the next generation.
